I am a specialist in digital marketing and independent business development, with more than 9 years of experience in the field. I have worked in the coordination and execution of digital marketing and social media campaigns in various economic sectors, among which stand out: industrial, health sector, education, restaurant, real estate, events, in addition to having experience in different angles of marketing and business development, as I have worked in government, in private companies, in a marketing agency and now as a freelance professional. I like to put ideas into action and my greatest motivation is to see my clients happy with my work.

My story…

My name is Viridiann Ortiz, I was born and raised in the warm but beautiful city of Mexicali, Baja California and since 2012 I reside in San Diego, California with my husband and daughter. With 9 years of experience in the marketing and business field, I have had the opportunity to help companies from startups to multinational companies to achieve their goals and objectives.
My childhood

Since I was little I have been very restless, perfectionist and persevering. The passion for business development has been with me all my life. I grew up in a family of merchants and microentrepreneurs and thanks to the family business since I was a child I have had the opportunity to learn the art of sales from my parents and grandparents and I have experienced closely what it is to run a business and seek daily ways to make it grow .
My student life

In 2008 I graduated with honors from CETYS University, Campus Mexicali with a degree in International Business, also thanks to the double degree program I had the opportunity to also study a degree in Business Administration at City University of Seattle, Washington. As part of this program I studied one summer in Seattle, Washington and another in Athens, Greece.

During my time as a student at CETYS University, being able to participate in different extracurricular activities always filled me with emotion, that is why I joined the organization team of the Células 2007 Administration and Marketing Congress, in addition to having the honor of having completed the class "Sales in the new era" online with Harvard Business School professor, Ben Shapiro, which I obtained as an award for having received the fifth national place in the writing contest organized by Profuturo GNP.
Start of a new life

In 2010 a new life began for me, I married my best friend and we moved to the city of Monterrey. Then I joined the multinational company CIESA in the Marketing department. In this company I took the initiative to create and launch the first digital marketing campaign, since previously only traditional marketing activities were carried out. This campaign was very successful and yielded excellent online positioning results.

Later I worked as Marketing Manager at Buró Creativo, one of the largest marketing agencies in Mexico where I was in charge of the production area, coordinating a team of very talented marketers. This was a very pleasant and enriching opportunity that allowed me to learn from many industries with which I had not worked and to experience new challenges in my professional life.
One of my pasions

During all these years in the industry, I have always sought to stay updated and at the forefront, and that is why I have attended different congresses and conferences in cities such as Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Vancouver, among others, which has allowed me to grow as a professional and also discover another of my great passions: traveling.
My present and my future

After having worked in a government body, in a private company and in a marketing agency, and having had the opportunity to perceive marketing from its different angles, in 2014 I decided to start my own business, working on my own as a consultant for digital marketing. As part of my ongoing training, I am currently pursuing the Marketing Professional Certification program at the University of California, UCSD Extension, in San Diego, California. My goal for the next few years is to consolidate my business and continue to learn more every day, to provide my clients with a service of great value.
